Dr. Marrion is thrilled to be starting at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine after over two decades in private practice!
After graduating from veterinary school in 1991, Dr. Marrion completed a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center, then an ophthalmology residency and PhD in infectious diseases, both completed in 1998.
Dr. Marrion has been practicing veterinary ophthalmology in eastern Massachusetts since 1998. During this time, she also started providing ophthalmology services on a volunteer basis for Zoo New England, New England Aquarium, Mystic Aquarium, and the MSPCA in Methuen. She enjoys the challenges of working on a variety of species (penguins have really small eyes!!), as well as being able to give back to the community.
One of the aspects of practicing at the veterinary school that Dr. Marrion enjoys the most is the opportunity to work with young people – students, interns and residents. Additionally, she has found that the Cummings school is a great place for veterinarians of all ages to continue their education, with the wealth of amazing specialists who regularly collaborate on cases.
Dr. Marrion lives in North Andover with her young adult child, a pack of second-hand poodles and doodles, and a legally blind cat. In her free time, Dr. Marrion is an obsessive birdwatcher and is currently enrolled in a Birding Certificate Program through the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
