Kayla Sample - DVM

Kayla Sample is the first small animal community medicine intern at Tufts at Tech. Kayla grew up in San Diego, California where she dressed up as a dog or a veterinarian every Halloween of her childhood. As a child, she also volunteered with rescue organizations and served as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of America.  Kayla received her degree in Animal Science at the University of California Davis and completed veterinary school at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. During her schooling, Kayla worked extensively with several community outreach programs and shelters. She is currently improving her Spanish language skills in hopes of practicing as a bilingual veterinarian. Kayla is also a fear free certified professional and works to implement low stress handling techniques with all her patients. Outside of the clinic, you can find her spending time with her two cats or on an outdoor adventure with her dog, Rocko. Her favorite activities include hiking, backpacking and paddle boarding.
